Khanna’s support adds to the growing attention around Janoo’s campaign, which already received backing from Sen. Bernie Sanders.
The contest for Vermont governor picked up another notable endorsement Thursday as California Congressman Ro Khanna appeared in White River Junction with Democrat Amanda Janoo.
Khanna’s support adds to the growing attention around Janoo’s campaign, which already received backing from Sen. Bernie Sanders one day earlier. Khanna has been viewed as an emerging figure in national Democratic politics and has also been mentioned as a possible presidential contender in 2028.
At the event, Khanna praised Janoo’s positions on health care and taxes, saying her campaign reflects the current direction of the party and describing her as a strong fit for the office.
Gov. Phil Scott, meanwhile, said he is concentrating on winning over working people rather than Washington insiders. He said he would rather earn support from an apple farmer in South Hero than from a longtime politician from the nation’s capital.
