The change affects the busy five-way junction where Route 202 meets Route 137, Route 124, Turnpike Road and Stratton Road.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation said Thursday that traffic has now been shifted onto a new connector bridge over the Contoocook River in downtown Jaffrey.
The change affects the busy five-way junction where Route 202 meets Route 137, Route 124, Turnpike Road and Stratton Road. N.H. DOT said drivers on Route 202 eastbound and westbound will use the new bridge alignment, while motorists on Blake Street and River Street will encounter updated stop signs, tighter travel lanes and the removal of some turning lanes.
Work at the so-called Dog Leg intersection of routes 202, 124 and 137 is still ongoing. During construction, the agency said drivers should continue to expect flaggers, traffic-control equipment and electronic message boards in the area.
The project, budgeted at $23 million, includes rebuilding portions of Route 202 and Blake Street along with construction of the new bridge. Completion is expected in the summer of 2028.
