The officers injuries were reported as not life-threatening.
Two Hillsboro police officers were injured early Monday morning after a pursuit ended in a head-on collision in Antrim, authorities said.
Police said the incident began around 2:30 a.m. when an officer noticed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the downtown area. The driver was stopped briefly, but the vehicle then took off again. Hillsboro Police later attempted to stop the same car on Old Milk Road.
Officials said the suspect then accelerated and struck a Hillsboro police cruiser head-on. Two officers were inside the cruiser at the time of the crash. Their injuries were reported as not life-threatening.
By around 4 a.m., News 9 crews observed the damaged cruiser being towed from the scene. Several police vehicles, along with an ambulance and a fire truck, were also present.
The case remains under investigation.
